AfD becomes first far-right party to win German state election since 1945

It seems there may be some confusion here – as of my last update, the Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) has not won a German state election outright. They have gained seats in various state parliaments, which is a significant accomplishment for a far-right party in post-WWII Germany, but they have not yet emerged as the leading party in any of the 16 German state parliaments. However, the AfD’s growth and prominence in German politics is noteworthy and continues to be the source of much discussion and debate.
