Army officer alleges reprisal for his account of Capitol riot response
The officer in question has filed a complaint with the US Office of Special Counsel, alleging retaliation on behalf of the US Capitol Police for speaking out about the response to the Capitol riot. The officer is still actively employed with the department but was moved from his former position as Shift Commander. The complaint alleges that he was transferred in retaliation for a media interview in which he talked about the lack of preparedness for the attack. The complaint further alleges that he was denied a promotion in response to his continued involvement in speaking out against the leadership of the department. If the complaint is substantiated, then the officer may be entitled to compensation for the retaliation he experienced.
