Ex-congressional candidate charged with threatening ‘hit squad’ against opponent
Former congressional candidate William Braddock of Florida was charged with threatening to send a “hit squad” after his political opponent, Anna Paulina Luna. The threats allegedly occurred during a private phone call which was later leaked. Mr. Braddock was attempting to gain the Republican nomination for Florida’s 13th Congressional District at the time of the incident. He was subsequently arrested and charged with three counts of making threats, with each count carrying a potential five-year prison sentence.
